She has a wide knowledge and experience in environmental issues and was co-organiser of the Dune Trust Conference in Piha in 2011. Lives permanently in Piha.
A veterinary surgeon with a special interest in birds and marine wildlife. Berend works in private practice as a consultant and lives in Piha. He is chair of New Zealand Bird Rescue and treats many native birds. Berend was a consultant to Auckland Zoo and Kelly Tarltons and has worked for DOC on native species including Kokako, Kakapo, Kaka, Kiwi, Weka. Korora and Kekeno. He is committed to bringing about a resurgence of native birds in the bush.
