Weeds And Re-vegetation
Weeds And Re-vegetation
Weeds, which challenge the ability of native plants to survive and re-generate, are an ongoing problem throughout the Waitakere Ranges Heritage Area, which includes Piha.
Piha Coastcare has given advice to many private landowners about how they can get rid of their invasive weeds, and has been part of weedfree projects in a number of roadside and reserve areas, including Garden Road, Beach Valley Road and Piha coastal reserves. We can supply advice, herbicides and sometimes eco-sourced plants to local people working on eradicating weeds from their properties or roadsides.
