Gecko Trust is running another free interactive workshop on the specifics of restoration best practice, in particular – Weed Strategising. This is an opportunity to develop a weed-free plan for your backyard or area you are working in, so if you would like to learn more, share your knowledge and meet other people doing fantastic work across West Auckland, Southern Rodney and the North-West Wildlink, then please join us.
Date: Saturday 17th October
Time: 9.15am for a 9.30 start – 12.30pm.
Venue: Titirangi Primary School Hall (Atkinson Rd, Titirangi, Auckland)
Directions: The main school gate will be open from 9am with some parking available at the bottom. Alternatively there is more parking in the village. Come down the main driveway or steps – keep left and follow sign to the ‘Hall’. Door will be open, come up the stairs to your left. See attached map.
Morning tea will be provided. For those that want to “mix and mingle” over lunch at 12.30 please bring a plate to share.
Also, there is an opportunity toward the end of the workshop to ask about the control of specific species, so feel free to bring in samples of weeds you are unsure of.
If you have a specific property in mind, to make the most out of the workshop – try to get an idea of weed distribution in your specific area. You don’t necessarily need to know what they are, just have a rough idea about where they are and how much of each different weed there is.
